Tracking Ticks,
Protecting Communities

An Australian First:
Tick-Focused Citizen Science Project

Tick-borne diseases are an under-recognised threat to public health in Australia. With cases on the rise, it’s more important than ever to understand tick populations and the pathogens they carry.

Tick Science Alliance is a unique citizen science project that collects a range of data on Australian ticks.

“Australia is home to 73 different tick species, most of which don’t occur anywhere else in the world!”

Science + Community

A collaboration between leading scientists, including Dr Mackenzie Kwak, Dr Leona Gilbert, Dr Stephen Croucher, TICNA (Tick-borne Illness Community Network Australia) and LDAA (Lyme Disease Association of Australia) to contribute to research, education, and tick-borne disease prevention.
