About TSAA
Tick Science Alliance Australia (TSAA) is sponsored by the Lyme Disease Association of Australia (LDAA) and integrates experts, researchers and citizen scientists with the aim of filling the critical gaps in tick surveillance in Australia.
Mission
Our highest aim is to contribute to protecting the health of Australians from the potential harm of tick bites through ongoing data collection. Initially, through mapping species diversity and location and at a later stage, testing of ticks for pathogens. Our results will drive research, boost prevention, and ultimately may inform better treatment options.
Collaboration
We are a collaboration of leading scientists including Dr Mackenzie Kwak, Dr Leona Gilbert, Dr Stephen Croucher, TICNA (Tick-borne Illness Community Network Australia), LDAA (Lyme Disease Association of Australia) and individual advocates including Elaine Kelly and Lachlan Onegin-Ward to contribute to research, education, and tick-borne disease prevention.
